In the series intertidal ecographies, this principle of sensing becomes apparent: the intertidal zone – neither entirely land nor entirely sea – becomes a place where the binary dissolves. Here, another kind of knowledge begins: an embodied, relational, and tactile knowledge. It is this in-between that interests Chili Seitz – not as a blur, but as the very site of insight. In the experimental arrangement, the precise hanging sorted by date, the work HYDROGRAPHIC ARCHIVE becomes exactly that: an archive. Its order is both cartographic and hydrographic – guided by waterways, permeability, and relations.
