This principle of sensing also becomes visible in the series intertidal ecographies: the intertidal zone – neither entirely land nor entirely sea – becomes a place where the binary dissolves. Here, another kind of knowledge begins: an embodied, relational, tactile knowledge. It is this in-between that interests Chili Seitz – not as a blur, but as the very site of insight. The works were created in Iceland during a residency at SíM Reykjavik, supported by the European Union and the Goethe-Institut.
