Create your own film using your smartphone as a tool.

CONTENT In this project, short films are developed using the app Stop-Motion-Studio. The smartphone serves as a tool and as a camera for the sequences. We gain insights into the topics of pixilation, cartoons, animations and stop motion. From idea development, storyboarding, character development, animation, camera work, film editing, soundtrack to presentation.
PROCEDURE After a detailed introduction to the task given using examples from contemporary art (e.g. William Kentridge), the participants will first write a story in small groups. What should be negotiated in the film? What is it about? How can I implement this? Whether it's a drawing, plastic made of modeling clay, colored paper or simple everyday objects, all these questions must first be clarified. After a short warm-up exercise, more complex situations are developed with the aim of creating a stop-motion film at the end. The focus is on the experience of image and spatial composition in two and three-dimensional space. From the idea, the development of a plot, to a storyboard, which provides clarity about the process, to the development of a set, a backdrop, the work begins.
