... is a temporary installation of 10 flags along the harbour in Kiel. This project was funded by the Art Advisory Board and the City of Kiel within the framework of art in public spaces. The flag itself is only set in motion by the wind and only then unfolds its purpose. My work uses the flags as an image carrier for the motif that moves them. “Wind and weather.” A different image is printed on each of the flags. Using the flag as a landscape-defining element itself as an image carrier promises a new reception of the same.

The arthistorian Lara Bader writes about the work:
According to their function, flags mark affiliations of various kinds as well as special messages. But instead of symbolic motifs, the flags of the installation Wind und Wetter (2021) by Chili Seitz show sky views photographed. These are similar, but are each individual, unique snapshots of clouds moving through an otherwise blue sky. In the wind they become moving images. The views contradict the originally military-patriarchal power gesture of showing the flag, after all they depict what cannot territorially be conquered by humans. The artist occupies masts that have already been installed and counteracts the hegemonic messages otherwise attached at this point by showing what is already there anyway. It does not add anything new to the place, but instead draws attention to what is always given: wind and weather. The locations of the wandering installation are always places with foresight. There, the mostly local identification marks are replaced by views of the sky, the motif of which is familiar to everyone. They don't exclude anyone - on the contrary, because the everyday nature of the sight marks everyone as a global citizen. Lara Bader
